Now that we’re nearing the first official day of summer, I’m beginning to crave more cold beverages through a straw. One of my favorite summer drinks is a smoothie. They’re so versatile, and such a great vehicle for cramming more greens into your day, too. This Green Sunshine Smoothie is a great kickoff to your day!
When I was pregnant with my son, smoothies were my go-to breakfast in the morning. They didn’t seem to upset my stomach (I had my fair share of morning sickness), and they allowed me to pack in essential vitamins and minerals that otherwise would have been more difficult to fit in. One of these days, I will share those smoothies I made with you. I’ll either put together an ebook or do a blog series on them. Stay tuned . . .
This recipe also makes a great recovery drink after a workout. To up the protein, you could easily add a handful of cashews, swap the almond milk for soy milk or protein nutmilk, or add a scoop of your preferred protein powder.
I can proudly say that my two year old LOVED this! He drank nearly an entire adult serving on his own 🙂 Always a win to sneak more veggies into that little guy!
Hope you all have a great week! Also, be sure to “like” my new Facebook page I (finally) got set up: https://www.facebook.com/myfoodbodybliss/
